My progress on my project this week has involved me lighting a screen properly. I model in front of it and took a few pictures. The lighting turned out great and my next step is to learn how to create a background to put behind this image. I have also tested out how to use a jib for the movie idea I came up with. I have never used a jib before and shockingly it was pretty easy to use. Today I went to a few stores to look for props for the imaginary world images and/or the movie I may be filming. I didn't buy anything, but came up with a few new ideas.
I am having technical difficulties putting the images up here so I have listed the artist and titles of work below.
Stan Douglas Two Friends, 1975 2012
In this piece Two Friends it creates a sort of tension between a couple sitting down. This creates movement in the piece and allows the viewer feel as though there in the moment with everyone else. Why I like this piece is because it captures a setting in moment versus staged even though it is staged.
Stephen Shore Room 509, Dnipro Hotel, Kiev, Ukraine 2012
This piece makes me think about emptyness and how a person never knows what the other side of the door looks like. The doors are open which makes me feel invited to go into the next room.
Birdhead The Light of Eternity 2012
In this image a figure sits on an ancient ruin stairs. I love interaction of a modern person with our ancient history. It makes the viewer think what else has the person on the stairs explore in their life. This piece inspires me to travel and get in touch with our history.
Roe Ethridge McCracken and Ryman 1 (vertical), McCracken and Ryman 1 (horizontal) 2011
This piece is abstract and gives me the sense of two different universes. The black and white touch forming a light in between them. I feel at piece looking at this picture.
